Downtown revitalization plans have councillors, business owner excited. Here’s why the work has to be done by next year.

Janet Wheeler moved to Mount Albert with her mother and father, Shirley and Jed, in 1977.

Her parents opened the village’s first Home Hardware store, which Wheeler closed in 2006 after another Home Hardware moved in along Hwy. 48.

She then opened the Benjamin Moore shop in the same spot as her mom and dad’s former store, at 19124 Centre St. at the corner of Centre and Main streets.
