The Town of East Gwillimbury is updating its Economic Development Strategy, and we want residents and businesses to help shape the future of our local economy.

The updated strategy will guide the Town’s economic development priorities over the next five years, including how we support local businesses, attract new industrial, commercial and institutional investment, create local jobs, and encourage sustainable economic growth as East Gwillimbury continues to grow

Help Shape the Next Five Years

East Gwillimbury’s current Economic Development Strategy covers 2021 to 2026. With significant growth and investment taking place across the community, now is an important time to look ahead and determine where we want our local economy to go next.

The new strategy will consider opportunities to attract and retain high-quality jobs, strengthen commercial and employment areas, support entrepreneurship and existing businesses, diversify the Town’s tax base, and create a more complete community where residents have greater opportunities to live, work and shop locally.

The new strategy will consider opportunities to attract and retain high-quality jobs, strengthen commercial and employment areas, support entrepreneurship and existing businesses, diversify the Town’s tax base, and create a more complete community where residents have greater opportunities to live, work and shop locally.

Community feedback will play an important role in developing those priorities.

“East Gwillimbury is growing, and our Economic Development Strategy gives us an opportunity to be intentional about the kind of economy we want to build alongside that growth. We want to hear directly from our residents and businesses about the jobs, businesses, services and opportunities they would like to see in our community over the next five years.”
